History: Penguins on Parade was a 2002 fundraiser for the Tulsa Oklahoma Zoo. The Zoo was celebrating their 75th anniversary with the development of an African Black-Footed Penguin Exhibit. In late 2002, 6-foot tall Penguins began popping up all over Tulsa. These penguins were elaborately decorated and positioned in front of many local businesses.
Shortly after they were placed on display several of the penguins were stolen. (REF:articles from Tulsa World)
Even though most fundraisers are short lived, you can still find penguins all over Tulsa and the surrounding area.
